Stress can often be managed through intentional breathing exercises. Here are a few effective techniques:
Deep Belly Breathing: Sit comfortably and place one hand on your abdomen. Breathe in slowly through your nose, letting your belly expand, and exhale gently through your mouth. Repeat for several breaths, focusing on the movement of your abdomen.
4-7-8 Breathing: Inhale quietly through your nose for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 7, and exhale completely through your mouth for a count of 8. This method is particularly helpful before sleep or during moments of anxiety.
Box Breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold the breath for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, and hold again for 4 seconds. Repeat this cycle several times to restore calm and focus.
Practising these techniques regularly can help reduce stress, improve concentration, and promote overall wellbeing.
